5. Truth Or Dare

The Pitch: Ever play Truth or Dare? That, but as a horror movie, and if you lose, you die.

The Reality: Truth or Dare is such an ingenious, easily-marketable premise for a horror film it's kinda shocking it hadn't already been done.

But while it should've been a campy, Final Destination-esque gore-fest, Blumhouse instead opted to go the cynical PG-13 route, delivering lame deaths, bad acting and a disappointingly self-serious tone in the process.

With R-rated death scenes and a script written by a single voice rather than a committee of four writers scrambling to cram their ideas in, Truth or Dare could've been a great slice of self-aware schlock, but instead it plays itself totally straight despite how inherently silly it is.

Were we really not supposed to laugh at those stupid, Aphex Twin-style CGI faces? Madness.
