10 Awful Movies Sons Of Anarchy Actors Want Us To Forget
5. Mark Boone Junior/Dayton Callie – Halloween II
Horror franchises
always seem to follow the same pattern. An initial film comes out and wows
audiences and critics alike with its premise and characters. A sequel is then
quickly greenlit to capitalise on its success, upping the gore but losing the
mystique and slow build storytelling of its predecessor.
More sequels are then continuously released, long after the original creator and actors have moved on to bigger and better things, to diminishing returns until the plug is finally pulled. Some time later, a new director comes along and remakes the property, sometimes beginning the cycle anew and sometimes falling flat in their attempt.
Rob Zombie played the part of the ‘new director’ in this process when it came to Halloween in 2007, restarting a series that had begun with John Carpenter’s classic in 1978 and been subject to seven sequels. It was given its own sequel in 2009, with new cast members including Sons of Anarchy’s Sheriff Unser and Bobby Munson, Dayton Callie and Mark Boone Junior. Both roles were minor, with Callie appearing as an implied necrophiliac coroner and Boone as a swiftly dispatched victim of Michael Myers.
Given the name recognition of the franchise, its one of the most notable entries in their respective near 40-year filmographies (both having gotten their first credit in 1984). Given the sheer volume of work that they have undertaken overall across this time period, however, it's easy enough to gloss over.
