10 Awful Movies Sons Of Anarchy Actors Want Us To Forget

6. Jimmy Smits – The Million Dollar Hotel

Given the disdain afforded to them by some, it would be very cheap and easy to cite the Star Wars prequels as the low points of Jimmy Smits’ career. The dislike for Attack Of The Clones and to a lesser extent Revenge Of The Sith, in which he appeared in the role of Leia’s adoptive father Senator Bail Organa, has thawed over time, however.

He returned to the role a decade after last playing it for a brief appearance in the vastly superior Rogue One, cementing his status as a television legend (built up through long stints on L.A Law and NYPD Blue) in the interim with his roles in The West Wing and Sons of Anarchy. One of the best additions to the often-flawed latter seasons of the show, it was one of the few major television roles to not score him a single Emmy nomination.

For someone so prevalent on television, Smits appearances on the big screen have been fairly limited, with the spectacles of Star Wars almost fully offset by small and/or forgotten films. Some of these are serviceable, others outright terrible.

Amongst these, 2000’s The Million Dollar Hotel sticks out. The brainchild of U2’s Bono, who has thankfully never forced in into people’s film collections like he did with the band’s music on iTunes, it saw Smits’ play one of the residents of the titular building. He’s probably thankful that nobody ever saw it, as it grossed just $60k on an $8 million budget.
