10 Awful Movies Stranger Things Actors Want Us To Forget

9. Cary Elwes (Larry Kline) - Saw: The Final Chapter

Season 3 of Stranger Things introduced Cary Elwes as Larry Kline - a corrupt ex-mayor with ties to Soviets who are pursuing Eleven. Cary Elwes is best-known for portraying Westley in The Princess Bride but modern viewers probably recognise him as Dr Lawrence Gordon in the smash-hit, Saw.

Because Elwes was Saw's biggest star, the studio was desperate to bring him back for the sequels. But due to a financial dispute, Elwes refused to have anything to do with the horror series. After years of legal discussions, the whole ordeal was sorted and Elwes agreed to appear in Saw: The Final Chapter (which is technically the third-last movie).

Unfortunately, Elwes' decision backfired since he happened to make his triumphant return in the worst entry in the franchise. The 3D gimmick is relentlessly forced and the plot is all over the place. Also, the film suddenly cuts to characters unconnected to the story purely so we can watch them die horribly in Jigsaw's traps. It's gratuitous scenes like this that helped cement Saw's reputation as torture-porn. It was nice to see Elwes return to the series that reignited his career but he shouldn't have bothered.
