10 Awful Movies Stranger Things Actors Want Us To Forget
8. Finn Wolfhard (Mike) - IT: Chapter 2
Because of Tim Curry's iconic performance as Pennywise in the IT mini-series, the hype for the 2017 remake was through the roof. Amazingly, the film surpassed everyone's expectations. Even though Bill Skarsgård delivered a career-defining performance as the killer clown, the child actors portraying the members of The Losers Club deserve a lot of credit, especially Finn Wolfhard.
Although the sequel, IT: Chapter 2, focuses on The Losers Club as adults, it was decided to incorporate flashbacks of their characters as kids as an excuse to bring back the child actors. Sadly, this was a really bad idea. Despite the fact the films were made two years apart, Wolfhard and the rest of the kids looked and sounded noticeably older. The filmmakers tried to hide this by using CGI to de-age them and alter their voices to sound younger. Sadly, these modifications were distracting, making it hard to enjoy these actors' scenes, despite their solid performances.
These unnecessary flashbacks also tacked on an extra half-hour to the run-time, making IT: Chapter 2 feel very bloated. Bill Skarsgård gives another phenomenal performance as Pennywise but there is no question that this follow-up dropped the ball.
