10 Awful Movies That Actors Loved Shooting

1. Dev Patel - The Last Airbender

Finally, we've reached The Last Airbender, a film that utterly butchered its superior anime source material and firmly planted director M. Night Shyamalan at the bottom of the barrel in 2010. Fans of the original show were horrified at what had been done to one of their favourite IPs.

Based on the titular Airbender who can command all four elements, the cast consisted of both established and unknown actors and came under some controversy over white-washing. One member of the ensemble, Dev Patel, had just appeared in the highly successful Slumdog Millionaire and joined the film as antagonist Zuko.

During the production, Patel enjoyed making the film; with intensive training across Wushu and other martial arts, the actor was seen throwing punches and kicks through much of the production and called the experience "truly amazing". Clearly, Patel was committed to the movie and said he wanted to inject as much of his own persona into the character of Zuko as possible.

More recently, Dev Patel has apologised to fans and generally regrets his appearance in the film. Whether this was down to Shyamalan's poor writing is anyone's guess, but the actor has said that when looking at The Last Airbender he "sees a stranger on screen that I don't recognise".
