10 Awful Movies With Incredible Casts

2. Cats

Dr Dolittle
Universal

Cast: Judi Dench, Ian McKellen, Taylor Swift, James Corden, Idris Elba, Rebel Wilson, Jennifer Hudson

When Oscar-winning director Tom Hooper declared he was adapting one of Andrew Lloyd Webber's most lucrative shows, Cats, it sounded like it had all the workings of a smash-hit. Although a lot of film musicals tend to hire actors for their star power rather than their singing ability, these concerns were put to rest when Taylor Swift and Jennifer Hudson joined the cast. With long-time thespians, Judi Dench and Ian McKellen, chucked in as well to give the film more gravitas, Cats seemed like it was destined to become a classic.

Sadly, Cats was a cat-aclysmic disaster.

Although the felines are meant to be cute, every creature looks like something out of The Island of Dr Moreau. Also, if you thought the kitties look freaky, the human-faced mice and cockroaches will fuel your nightmares for quite some time.

The movie isn't just bad; it's unfinished. In one shot, you can see Judi Dench's human hand (and her wedding ring) because the animators forgot to render it. Despite the ensemble and money behind it, Cats might be the worst musical ever made.
