7. Anne Hathaway - Brokeback Mountain
Hathaway is lucky that her role is well written here, because she's a very poor part of a very deep and engaging film. She seems miscast as a rodeo rider in Ang Lee's epic about two homosexual cowboys. Her dialogue feels very stilted, and she simply looks like she's trying too hard to compete with the performances of Ledger, Gyllenhaal, and her emotional scenes, instead of providing the heartbreaking realism they were supposed too, simply don't impress in context with the rest of the film.
