6. Keanu Reeves - The Matrix
The Matrix is a pioneering sci-fi film that truly set itself apart from it's competitors in the genre. It's unique and intelligent in it's ideas, and it's action set pieces are explosive and inventive. What it lacks however, is great acting from it's lead. Reeves is wooden and unconvincing as Neo throughout. Although he looks a bit more at home in the second half of the movie, around the bits that involve lots of kicking, punching and wearing sunglasses, the more human scenes woefully expose his acting ability and complete lack of expression and emotion in his delivery. The film survives as a classic on it's story though, despite Reeves best, or in fact worst, efforts.
