1. La Femme - Inside
Beatrice Dalle gives a strong and haunting performance as La Femme in Inside, a graphic and gruesome horror film released in 2007 that follows the attack and home-invasion of pregnant Sarah, by a mysterious woman intent on stealing her unborn baby. Four months after Sarah is involved in a tragic car accident that takes the life of her husband, she is awaiting an ambulance to take her to the hospital in preparation for the birth of her child. Before the ambulance arrives, The Woman shows up and sets in action a series of events that have Sarah struggling to survive.
She stalks, terrorises, and stabs Sarah in her pregnant belly. Additionally, the woman succeeds in not only killing Sarah's housekeeper, but also the police, who are conveniently inept. Eventually, it is revealed that The Woman was the other party involved in the car accident and suffered a miscarriage herself, thus motivating her to steal Sarah's baby.
Ultimately, Sarah must fight her determined attacker, leading to a knock-down, total non-stop action, death match between the two women, employing every household appliance available. Half of The Woman's face is ultimately burned off by Sarah and she flees, only to return later to save Sarah from the presumed dead police officer, who actually isn't.
Believing her to be The Woman, he clubs Sarah in the stomach, thus inducing labor. Once the mysterious woman dispatches him, she must perform an impromptu caesarian section, with scissors, to save the infant's life. Being that she isn't a medical professional, however, her operation kills Sarah, and she finally gets her way.
