10 Badass Villains Spider-Man Should Fight In The MCU

6. The Punisher

Kingpin Spider Man
Marvel Comics

The Punisher's origin was as a Spider-Man villain, who was evil because he killed the bad guys. He later evolved into a hero, who was good because he killed the bad guys. The Punisher is a traumatised war veteran named Frank Castle who lost his family to organised crime and devoted his life to gunning down anyone even tangentially responsible.

The Punisher has appeared in cinematic form before, multiple times, none of which gained traction. Nevertheless his appearances in the Daredevil TV series and potential solo series make him a part of the MCU already, and one whose heritage and powerful character would make him an ideal participant in Spidey's corner of the franchise.

The conflict between the two would be philosophical and moral as well as kick-ass, as they have very different views about how heroes should behave.

Punisher Vs Spider-Man would be a street-level conflict, without the super-powered fireworks of the Avengers, instead focusing on a conflict between two characters over what is right.
