DC have probably had more movie flops that they've had successes. Green Lantern, Supergirl, Steel, Jonah Hex, Catwoman, Batman Forever and Batman and Robin have all been slammed by critics and audiences alike. In some cases, you can't really blame the casting or the actors for said failure - Halle Berry was actually one of the bright points of the terrible Catwoman movie, in spite of its ridiculous concept, and Josh Brolin could have been a fantastic Jonah Hex had the material he was given to work with not been awful. That said, most of the time it's down to poor casting. DC have given jobs to so many completely inappropriate actors, in terms of the characters that they played, that we've lost count of the number of cases in which it has occurred. Whether it's because the actor in question just wasn't very good, whether it's because they were so impossibly different to the character they were portraying, whether it's because they were taking over from someone who was a hard act to follow or whether it was another reason entirely, some actor-character mixes have simply been wrong and that's what we're going to be looking at here.
