Normally, this kind of entry would only get an honourable mention but, such was the uproar about Ben Affleck's casting as Batman, it had to make the actual list. It was met with a huge backlash from comic book fans, with some even going to such lengths as creating online petitions calling for the removal of the actor from the project. Fans have claimed he isn't built like Batman, isn't intimidating enough to play Batman, doesn't have the star power to play Batman and simply doesn't have the acting chops to play Bruce Wayne and Batman, while many have pointed towards his failed portrayal of Marvel superhero Daredevil back in 2003 as reason enough not to cast him as a street-prowling vigilante. Regardless of fan opinions, he will portray the Dark Knight in the 2016 Batman Vs Superman movie and, fingers crossed, all this furore will prove to have been misplaced and misjudged.
