George Clooney is, without any shadow of a doubt, the worst man to have ever been cast as Batman. Period. In what was a pretty terrible film overall, Clooney is widely seen as the worst thing about it, having been described as "the big zero of the film" and as someone who "should go down in history as the George Lazenby of the series". Even Clooney himself has spoken out about how poor the whole thing was, saying "I think we might have killed the franchise" and calling the whole thing a waste of money. The ER actor (who simultaneously was allowed to film said drama series whilst shooting for this movie, which can't have helped matters at all) simply isn't dark enough to play the iconic Dark Knight. In fact, Joel Schumacher specifically cast him to provide a lighter and less depressing Batman than previous offerings, which was a stupid idea that went a large fraction of the way towards ensuring its failure. Of course, the Bat-nipples didn't help one bit either, but that's another story...
