10 Baffling Decisions That RUINED Artemis Fowl

5. Mulch Diggums' Narration

Speaking of irritating vocal performances:

Josh Gad's weird Batman voice is grating, off-putting, and altogether annoying - so why was he chosen to be the narrator?

Throughout the movie, we constantly cut back to Mulch Diggums in a mysterious interrogation room, telling the story as we see it unfold. The clichéd framing device stinks of a last-minute addition. It looks like it was filmed in a single twenty minute take, and it sounds like it's the first time Gad has ever read the words he's saying.

Mulch's interrogator is played by director Kenneth Branagh. It's a cameo that really gives the impression that Branagh never had a clue what was going on, and had to keep asking Gad to explain it to him.
