10 Baffling Decisions That RUINED Artemis Fowl

3. Inventing The Aculous

The Aculous is one of the all-time vaguest McGuffins we've ever seen.

It was never once mentioned in any Artemis Fowl book, so why is it so central to this story? And why does everyone keep repeating its name over and over?

From what we can see, it's a glowing acorn that does... magic? Of some sort?

Whatever it is, the fathers of both Artemis and Holly believed it was too powerful to remain in the hands of the fairies, so they teamed up to hide it in a big safe.

The movie ends with Artemis and Holly putting it right back in the hands of the fairies. This is a... good thing? Honestly, we gave up on understanding this film a long time ago.
