10 Batman Movie Villains Reimagined For The DCEU

6. Venom-Addicted Bane

Tom Hardy's Bane in The Dark Knight Rises divided fans. Some felt he did the character imposing justice on screen, while others were miffed at the creative liberties taken by director Christopher Nolan.

Nolan loves to deconstruct characters, which is exactly what he did with the Bat-breaker, so that creates scope to deliver a more authentic take on the villain when it comes to recasting him for the DCEU.

Adam Rodriguez of CSI: Miami and Magic Mike fame, who is of Puerto Rican and Cuban descent, is a closer match to the South American powerhouse from the comics than Hardy ever was. Obviously.

Rodriguez, with that ripped torso he kept on display in Magic Mike, wouldn't even have to bulk up that much to pull off post-Venom Bane.

Speaking of Venom, that should be the focal point of the DCEU's Bane. The drug and the villain's reliance on it wouldn't have meshed with the Nolan universe, but it could be an interesting variable to throw into the Gotham melting pot.

A future Batman film with Bane as the villain could serve as a powerful social commentary on drug addiction, and even pave the way for an adaptation of the hard-hitting, fan-favourite Batman: Venom storyline.
