Like Ridley Scott, James Cameron had a famously tough time making his third feature film. The Making of Aliens chronicles that struggle.

The documentary covers everything from the casting process, to the design and creation of the weaponry on a tiny budget. Ever wondered why the Colonial Marines are reminiscent of American soldiers in Vietnam? This film lets you know.

But this isn't simply a straight forward account detailing the process of filmmaking. Sure, it's filled with amusing anecdotes from the cast a crew, but there's a central conflict to the film also.

James Cameron was notorious for his no-nonsense attitude on set. His demanding style and his perceived lack of experience by the British crew resulted in mounting tension throughout the shoot. Many of the issues boiled down to miscommunication between the two factions; the British thought Cameron was inexperienced, and Cameron thought the Brits' way of doing things was archaic. Notably, he found their insistence on adhering to scheduled tea breaks and union guidelines a ridiculous notion.

There was even an infamous incident in which the cherished tea trolly was mysteriously sabotaged...
