With the resources (money) that Marvel Studios has access to, hiring some of the most talented visual effects studios is easily achievable and allows the MCU's films to be filled with some incredibly detailed computer-generated images.

One such example is Infinity War and Endgame's rendition of Thanos.

There are a multitude of miniscule technical details that went into crafting a Thanos that didn't fall into the uncanny valley, most of which escape my equally minimal grasp on the the techniques involved in the craft. Being a human though, what I do understand is hair.

Looking at every image of Thanos in the comics, it would be easy to imagine that the character would translate to a smooth, plastic-y figure on screen. To avoid this being the case, the visual effects artists that brought the Mad Titan to life gave the villain a light stubble - a detail that is very easy to miss yet one that really helps make Thanos feel all the more tangible.
