10 Belated Film Sequels Hollywood Should Never Make
1. Stop Or My Dad Will Shoot
The Original:
Sylvester Stallone stars alongside Golden Girl Estelle Getty in this 1992 Buddy cop comedy. Stallone plays Joe Bomowski, a tough police sergeant whose interfering mother teams up with him to fight crime after witnessing a murder. The reviews were not kind.
The Sequel:
Sly has already returned in latter day re-treads of Rocky and Rambo, featuring both of those characters as depressing, past-their-prime shadows of their former selves. Having run out of other franchises to reboot, King of the belated sequel Stallone is forced to return to this box-office flop.
This time around he’s the older half of the parent and child pairing. Now an aging, former cop, he’s dragged out our retirement when his irresponsible daughter (Emma Stone) finds out her deadbeat boyfriend (a woefully miscast James Corden) is in way over his head with a gang of drug dealers. Will they stop a major drug deal and save a kidnapped Corden? Honestly, who cares?
