10 Belated Film Sequels Hollywood Should Never Make

7. When Harry Met Sally In Court

Groundhog Day
Columbia

The Original:

When Harry Met Sally(1989. A classic romantic comedy with Meg Ryan and Billy Crystal posing the age old question, can a man and a women ever really be just friends? The film is infamous for Ryan’s café based moaning and subsequent, “I’ll have what she’s having,” punchline.

The Sequel:

Can a man and a women ever really be just friends...after a divorce? It turns out Harry and Sally really were better off as friends, before romance got in the way.

Feeling trapped in a loveless marriage, Harry wants out and demands a divorce, along with custody of the family dog. Sally, hurt and feeling rejected, gets her own back on the witness stand, demonstrating how she’s been faking her orgasms all these years. Cue an elderly court stenographer saying something gently amusing.

There are several scenes of Sally ordering food so that other characters can say the famous "I'll have what she's having" line and everyone watching can recognise the reference. Because acknowledging the shared memory of a thing is the same as a joke, right?
