9. Toy Story
It's universally agreed that Toy Story should have ended with its third film, released in 2010. But, it's never that simple with Disney, is it? Fast forward nearly a decade, and a fourth Toy Story hit the big screen.
As for the film itself, it's pretty good, which is what you'd expect from a franchise that has consistently delivered. That said, it wasn't necessary or needed, and it only unravelled the natural conclusion of its predecessor. So, when the fifth movie was announced, it was met with more groans than cheers.
It can't all be doom and gloom, however, and with the film scheduled to release next year, it does have an inevitable yet interesting premise: toys versus tech.
It was only a matter of time before technology infiltrated the Toy Story franchise and subsequently interfered with the toys' relationship with Bonnie, thus reflecting the current screen-obsessed society we occupy in the real world.
Details surrounding Toy Story 5's plot are still a little unknown. Still, we do know that Bonnie's tablet, Lilypad, will likely serve as the film's antagonist as well as an army of malfunctioning, rogue Buzz Lightyears. Make no mistake, Toy Story 5 will rake in a substantial amount of money, but is it worth it?
In Disney's corporate eyes, it's a no-brainer, but one can't help but detect Disney's desperation to cling to its money-making intellectual properties. Let's all just collectively cross our fingers that this really is the last one...
