Yet another found footage film - and yet another obviously ominous finale for the camera-holders - but Afflicted managed the considerable feat of mashing up old ideas with the new, cheaper medium wonderfully well.
In the end, it is the film's commitment to escalating dread that really sells it, and it is genuinely very scary in parts, which is an art form too often ignored in modern horror films.
