10 Best & 10 Worst Movies Of The Decade (Year-By-Year)

8. 2016's Best - Captain America: Civil War

Captain America Civil War
Marvel

With Civil War the Russos took something as big as superhero registration and one of the most beloved mega events in comic books and made it a personal story about how the lives of four men intersected dramatically. This might be a huge story, but it's the conflict between Cap and Bucky, Cap and Iron Man, Iron Man and Bucky and all three with Zemo that really mattered.

Set against a story with huge stakes - and which offered the chance to see an exceptional, fan-baiting spectacle in the airport battle scene - Civil War felt intimate and immediate and the performances in there are way more impressive than you'd expect of this sort of scale.

It was far from a pure adaptation, but THIS is how you do blockbuster film-making.
