10 Best "Everything You Know Is A Lie" Moments In Horror Movies

1. Malcolm Is A Ghost - The Sixth Sense

Bodies Bodies Bodies
Buena Vista

It's perhaps the most iconic plot twist in modern horror cinema for a reason - The Sixth Sense's third act reveal is the crowned king of "everything you know is a lie" moments, when child psychologist Malcolm Crowe (Bruce Willis) learns the truth about his entire existence (or lack thereof).

At the start of the film Malcolm is badly wounded when a former patient (Donnie Wahlberg) shoots him before committing suicide.

The story then picks up months later, where Malcolm's wife Anna (Olivia Williams) is distant and his new patient is a young boy, Cole Sear (Haley Joel Osment), who claims he can see dead people.

At film's end, Malcolm returns home and hears Anna talking in her sleep about him leaving her, causing him to realise the horrible truth: he didn't survive being shot and has in fact been dead throughout the entire rest of the movie.

Every character on this list had to reckon with something pretty wild, but figuring out you've been unknowingly dead for a few months is a trip like nothing else.
