Part sci-fi, part horror, all-around mind-messer-upper, Coherence came out in 2013 and had everyone confused. In a good way, of course.

A dinner party ends up ruined when all the power to the neighbourhood goes out in the wake of a comet passing overhead. After some strange occurrences occur involving a mysterious still-lit house, the partygoers realise that the comet has caused a split in reality and the "other" house is actually an alternate version of their own.

There's a scientific explanation behind it, but we don't have the time nor intelligence to get into it now.

This is shocking enough, but the real twist comes much later in the film. It turns out that the comet created more than just one extra reality; it created several. Now the friends must figure out who is from which dimension and if any of them are dangerous.

This might sound like a lot, but Coherence actually does a great job in explaining the many twists and turns it contains.

You'll have a great time with it, even if you do end up questioning your own existence come the ending credits.
