10 Best 90s Teen Horror Movies You Need To Watch

8. The Faculty

Urban Legend
Miramax Pictures

This teen take on Invasion of the Bodysnatchers pits terrified teenagers against extraterrestrial teachers. Directed by Robert Rodriguez (From Dusk Till Dawn/Spy Kids), The Faculty is one of the director's more understated films, but also one of his most accessible.

A young and pretty Josh Hartnett, Jordana Brewster and pre-Lord of the Rings Elijah Wood head up the ensemble cast, with Robert Patrick and Famke Janssen on menacing form as the teachers.

The Faculty leaves a bad taste in the mouth in places (most notably in its Harry Knowles cameo... which was gross even before we knew he was a creep), but it's a fun 90s sci-fi horror film, with a great young cast and creepy alien action.

Borrowing liberally from Invasion of the Bodysnatchers and The Thing, it's a fun take on the usual alien invasion tropes and cliches. When it comes to teen horror movies, this is among the top of the class.
