10 Best Action Movie Scenes Of 2018 (So Far)

1. The X-Force Is Born (And Dies) - Deadpool 2

As fantastic as Thanos vs. The Avengers was, there's an action scene so utterly, hilariously demented that it just barely steals the #1 spot: the "arrival" of the X-Force in Deadpool 2.

The movie's marketing played-up the presence of the superhero team, only for audiences to get the rug pulled out from under them as the vast majority of the team ended up dying before they could even get within spitting distance of Cable (Josh Brolin).

As the team jumps out of their jet, Bedlam (Terry Crews) gets hit by a bus, Shatterstar (Lewis Tan) is minced by the blades of a chopper, Vanisher (played for a nanosecond by Brad Pitt) is electrocuted by a power line, Zeitgeist (Bill Skarsgård) gets blended by a wood chipper, and Peter (Rob Delaney) has his arm melted by Zeitgeist's acid vomit when trying to save him.

It's wonderfully f***ed up, and given that the trailers actually showed Bedlam and Shatterstar fighting DMC soldiers on the ground, it was pretty damn clever to not even have them make it there at all. A brilliant piece of shock value player for maximum comedic effect, this was a masterfully executed sequence.

But we're still glad Peter got revived via time travel shenanigans in the movie's unforgettable mid-credits scene.
