5. The Final Showdown - Revenge

If you haven't seen or even heard of this gnarly French thriller, you need to change that ASAP.

In true rape-revenge movie fashion, resilient victim Jen (Matilda Lutz) makes a determined last stand against her former lover Richard (Kevin Janssens).

As Richard prepares to head home via chopper, Jen ambushes him at his remote home, quite literally catching him with his pants down by firing her gun at him as he stands naked in his living room (having just hopped out of the shower).

A tripwire tense, ultra-suspenseful chase around the house ensues, as a wounded Richard wraps his wounded stomach in clingfilm (!), grabs his shotgun and attempts to get the drop on Jen.

After Jen slips on some blood, Richard manages to knock her out with his shotgun, but because he spends too long taunting her, Jen's able to grab hold of his shotgun and blast him in the stomach once more, killing him.

This movie sure was a wild ride, capped off by an utterly demented final showdown which cleverly subverted the unease of most rape-revenge movies by inverting the gaze towards the man's naked body instead.
