10 Best Action Movies Of The Last Decade
1. The Raid
When The Raid was released in 2011, it was relatively unknown to western audiences. However, like all things that are awesome, this brilliant martial arts flick couldn't stay under the radar for long and quickly became a must-see for action movie fans.
If you ever enjoyed Playstation One classics like Fighting Force or the Shinra Headquarters section of Final Fantasy VII, then you'll appreciate the simple, yet highly enjoyable plot of The Raid. Silat savage, Iko Uwais, plays Rama, a new member of special forces unit who have been given the task of taking out a ruthless gangster called Tama. The only way to do so is by taking out the henchmen inside of his headquarters, but they'll have to go up a number of floors to get there.
Watching the 20-man special forces team take on a horde of criminals, killers and psychopaths is an exceptionally intense and captivating experience for anyone watching. There are so many brilliant battles throughout this white knuckle ride of an action movie, but the one-on-one between Mad Dog and Rama stands out as one of the best fight scenes ever.
If you want a more plot-heavy version of The Raid, then its sequel will certainly give that to you. However, if you want the overall best action flick of the decade, the one that really made the most impact on the genre, then The Raid is quite clearly the best of the bunch.
