10 Best Animated Comic Book Films Of The Decade

3. Justice League: The Flashpoint Paradox

Batman Under the Red Hood
Warner Bros.

Flaspoint is one of DC’s most iconic story arcs. Thus, any movie adaptation had a lot to live up to. Thankfully though, this one delivered on all fronts. The movie begins with the spotlight on Barry Allen’s struggles to cope with the death of his mother. All those years of grief finally overpowers the Scarlet Speedster and he gives in to temptation.

Next thing we see is the Flash waking up in a completely new world. While he is delighted to find his mother still alive in this new reality, everything else has changed for the worst. Aquaman and Wonder Woman have become blood lusted dictators who will stop at nothing to establish their dominance over the other. A war that saw them invade and occupy large parts of the earth.

This movie is also special for giving us a movie adaptation of Thomas Wayne’s Flashpoint Batman.

After some intense fighting and countless sacrifices. A battered and bruised Barry uses his remaining strength to run into the Speed Force and stop his past self from fracturing the timeline.

An extremely moving final scene sees Barry, now back in the normal timeline having seemingly set things right, deliver a letter from Thomas to Bruce.
