2. The 300 - 300
Xerxes never knew what was about to hit him: inspired by his own God-like mythology, the heavily pierced Persian leader lead his hordes into battle facing only 300 partially dressed Spartans, with very little armour covering their rippling muscles and vulnerable vital organs beneath. The 300 should have been a total walk-over - in fact, faced with the odds they faced, they shouldn't have even turned up for battle - but they were Spartans, forged in war and taught to fight from the earliest age. They didn't do surrender, and though they knew their fates would likely be sealed, they faced battle and death with optimism and passion, determined to take out as many foes as possible before their own glorious deaths. The ultimate historical bad-asses, faced with impossible odds and certain death and yet committed to defending Sparta to the ultimate bloody end, their fates inspiring a Greek uprising to quash the Persian assault and an undying legend. And were it not for a great deception, they may have actually succeeded in driving back the Persian hordes on their own, with comparatively few casualties, and a pile of enemy dead to block out the sun. http://youtu.be/EmOH5f1J1Uc
