1. Bub - Day Of The Dead (1985)
The original and the best Bub was the quintessential Zombie Guinea Pig. With his gnarly green skin and comb over he's not exactly the best candidate to be reintegrated into society but as a test subject he's the perfect choice. He's the first Zombie to listen to music for goodness sake, although he doesn't exactly look like he's enjoying it all that much. Bub also learns to recognise other things from his day to day life and in the world of George A Romero he's the precursor to characters like Land of the Dead's Big Daddy who not only seems to have memories of his former life but also leads his fellow 'walkers' in an organised revolt against humanity. It's all very good teaching guys like Bub how to listen to his favourite tunes but the first place to start surely would be to teach him how to brush his teeth. Honestly guys, have you seen those (not so) pearly whites? He really should have flossed more after devouring all those human organs.
