10 Best Cabin In The Woods Horror Movies
9. Scare Me
While not necessarily a "pure" horror movie, a love for horror lies at the center of Scare Me's heart.
During a stay at a mountain cabin, a struggling writer meets the author of a recent best-selling horror novel. When the power goes out, the two decide to spend the night telling each other scary stories. As the night goes on, reality starts to bleed through, threating to turn a night of fun into something far worse.
The first thing you need to know about Scare Me is that it isn't an anthology film. Instead, the characters act out their stories much like one would at a campfire. This might seem boring in concept, but in execution, it is anything but. Both of the main actors give it their all, with their performances displaying a wide array of genuine emotion.
Of course, though, it wouldn't be here if it didn't have a few scares in it. The horror in Scare Me comes less from jump scares and gore, and more from an unnerving sense of unease that builds as the film progresses.
Equal parts clever and creepy, Scare Me is a much welcomed fresh face in the genre.
