Chosen One Title: The Man That Falls from the Sky

In the third instalment of the hugely popular Evil Dead series, The Army of Darkness, Ash got transported in time in 1300 AD, where he reluctantly becomes a hero of the people and experiences a classic hero’s fantasy journey.

What makes Ash so entertaining is his arrogant and cynical nature - think Han Solo, only with an incompetence his own confidence ignores. What makes this one-liners machine so endearing is, while he seems selfish and irritable at times, it is always understandably human given his situations and it doesn’t mean he doesn’t value the lives around him.

He might seem cowardly, at least by the standards that he lives in a world with the undead in it, but he is always proven to rise up to the occasion. If a guy seems unheroic and even fancy himself unheroic, his heroic deeds become more sincere.
