8. The Matrix Reloaded - Everything Goes Wrong
The Film: The bullet bending second trip into the digital mind-blower came hot on the heels of the success of its predecessor. Reloaded saw the return of the classic physics defying fight sequences and intricate plot, both maybe not quite as fast flowing as the original, but also saw the introduction of a full scale war, something that paved the way for the ultimate waiting game.
The Plot: After Neo was pulled from the digital, false reality known as The Matrix, he and the other free humans began their long fight against the machines. They free hundreds of new humans and guide a ragtag team of ships through the real world.
The Cliffhanger: Everything has indeed gone down the pooper.
Neo discovers that soon the Matrix will crash and kill everyone inside, while in the real world the machines are bringing down the hurt on the last surviving human city. Neo goes into a coma and his fate remains unknown, while the others are saved from their crashing ship at the last second, only to find themselves in a near unwinnable battle.
The Result: Neo wakes up fine and dandy and finishes off the war by talking to the machines God and taking down the double crossing Agent Smith in probably one of the most disappointing finales to a trilogy ever.
