3. Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest - Jack Dies, Barbossa Lives
The Film: After the triumphant Curse of the Black Pearl introduced us to Disneys take on the pirating world; it wasnt long before a sequel was produced. While not as savvy or quaintly genius as the first, Dead Mans Chest still packed all the necessary punches for an entertaining watch. No-one can really get enough of Jack Sparrow, can they?
The Plot: Captain Jack Sparrow has been marked by Davy Jones, a tentacle faced captain whom Jack owes a large debt to. The whimsical Captain searches desperately for the heart of Davy Jones in order to save himself, all the time avoiding the very nasty beasty, The Kraken, and is joined once more by Will Turner as he looks to free himself and his bride to be Elizabeth.
The Cliffhanger: Despite his best efforts, Jack finds himself attacked by the Kraken and after a heavy attack on the Black Pearl, is chained to the ship by Elizabeth to buy the others time to escape. They return to mystic Tia Dalma who reveals they can save Jacks soul, but only by travelling to Davy Jones Locker under a worthy enough captain - none other than Barbossa from Curse of the Black Pearl.
The Result: The explosive climax of the trilogy sees Jacks soul saved and everyone lives moderately happily ever after. This is of course after the fireworks packed fight in Singapore, the trek to the Locker, the never ending backstabs and betrayals, the Maelstrom set climactic battle and, of course, Keith Richards turning up as Jacks Dad. Aye, Jacky.
