2. Jason Goes to Hell - Freddys Glove And Jason's Mask
The Film: By no stretch of the imagination one of the best of the series, Jason Goes to Hell was the ninth instalment of Friday the 13th, a stretch for even the most diehard Voorhees fans. It delivered all the goods in a samey fashion, but its little sting in the tail ending is what really makes this movie stick in peoples minds.
The Plot: Jason has been on a killing rampage with the objective of immortality in mind, but hes been stopped at the last hurdle. Weve seen this part before. Similar to Bills demise making the title, Jason is sent to hell and banished from Earth, until next time of course. Friday the 13th part 10? Yeah, thatll be a good laugh, for the tenth time.
The Cliffhanger: There lays the famous hockey mask, lying in the sands of hellish metaphor. A final reminder that Jason is gone for another film, but that hell be back soon enough for another run of the mill hack n slash. Then all of a sudden, what should burst up from the ground? None other than a knifed glove clawing the mask into its grip and the sound of a very familiar maniacal laughter. This is not going to be your average sequel, ladies and gentlemen.
The Result: After a massive, ten year stint in development hell, Freddy vs. Jason graced us with its presence. Its double threat slasher build-up and gruesome final fight was the perfect way to match these icons of horror before pitting them against each other. Freddy manipulates Jason as the ending suggests, only for his submissive slave to become much less submissive and much more bloodthirsty.
