10 Best Comeback Lines In Cinema History

9. "That's Just, Like, Your Opinion, Man" €“ The Big Lebowski (1998)

In The Big Lebowski (1998), the Coen brothers envision a very different hero than John McClane. Whereas John embraces his role as a never-say-die tough guy, The Dude is far more comfortable staying relaxed and mellow. Nonetheless, both of them stand up for what they believe in €“ for The Dude, however, that just happens to be fashionable room décor. In The Dude€™s bowling league, an opposing team threatens to crush them in an upcoming match. This doesn€™t scare The Dude, however, who responds with a firm an irrefutable comeback: €œThat€™s just, like, your opinion, man.€ Fine, it€™s not a groundbreaking comeback, but what it lacks in creativity, it certainly gains in honesty and brevity. The Dude€™s a free spirit; everyone€™s entitled to their opinion, so he€™s not going to put anyone down, man. But maybe you€™re not into the whole brevity thing. Whatever opinion you have of this comeback, it€™s memorable and it puts The Dude€™s laid-back attitude on the map. Nobody messes with The Dude because nothing can get to him. Except people damaging to his carpet, but that would get to anybody. While The Dude may be as zen as possible, his friends are not. So mind the language in this video.
