Vince Vaughn is an actor who really divides opinion, and he has, perhaps deservedly, taken a particular amount of stick for some woeful movie choices in recent years. Admittedly his career probably peaked six or seven years ago, and he's never been the most versatile anyway, but he delivered some superbly funny performances during the 2000s. Having played mostly serious roles in the late 1990s, including Swingers, The Lost World: Jurassic Park and, most bizarrely, Norman Bates in the appalling 1998 remake of Psycho, the turning point was when he was cast in the 2003 comedy classic Old School. He was hilarious alongside Will Ferrell and Luke Wilson, whose brother Owen is unfortunate not to make the cut on this list, and his popularity skyrocketed from there. For the next few years he was one of the world's biggest comedy stars. Memorable performances in the likes of Starsky & Hutch, Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story and Anchorman: The Legend Of Ron Burgundy saw his stock continue to rise, but it was his brilliant showing in the 2005 smash Wedding Crashers that remains the finest moment of his career to date. He was hilarious in the lead role alongside Owen Wilson, delivering some memorable one-liners and playing the pent-up Jeremy Grey to perfection. The duck hunting trip is a particular highlight. Vaughn's career may have dipped somewhat since then - sizeably in fact - but there haven't been many better than him at playing slimy, care-free roles in the last 25 years.
