It was the film that launched a franchise and in many ways re-energised the comic book movie. With one film, Christopher Nolan paved the way for everything that has come in the past nine years, from DC, Marvel, and beyond. And that he brought a whole new take on Batman didnt hurt one bit. Christian Bales first outing as the Caped Crusader gave a Bruce Wayne no one had seen before. He put on an extraordinary amount of weight and muscle, having drastically lost both for The Machinist, and his training scenes amongst the League of Shadows are astounding. The Jokers calling card at the end is the icing on top; a stroke of genius from the comics that set up the epic trilogy to come.
Movie / TV enthusiast with a DVD and Blu-ray collection bigger than I'd care to admit. If anyone is offering creative / furniture solutions to house them, I'm all ears.
