8. Damien: Omen II (1978)

Dark Water 2002
20th Century Fox

The now 12-year-old antichrist Damien is under the care of his aunt and uncle and is still determined to wipe out anyone who threatens to stop him in the most horrific ways possible!

One of his unlucky victims is Dr Kane, who is brought in to find out why Damien was the only one not affected by toxic fumes released by a chemical explosion where his class was visiting. Kane’s examination of Damien’s blood discovers that it is closer to jackal blood than human, but before he can expose the young Devil, he meets a grisly fate.

Rushing to the lift on the 23rd floor, he presses floor 16 but the lift starts to rise. The dramatic music also rises, and whispering starts to indicate that Damien is about to work his evil. Kane’s confusion turns to terror, when after stopping at the 27th floor, the lift suddenly drops.

It gains speed until it stops on floor 3, knocking the doctor to the floor, and snapping the cable. He gets a moment of relief that he survived the fall until he hears a strange noise and looks up just in time to see the counterweights come falling down the shaft with the wire connecting them slicing through the lift and cutting him gruesomely in half.
