10 Best Ever Live Action Movie Duologies
1. 1. Kill Bill Volume 1 / Kill Bill Volume 2
The mother of all duologies. If Tarantino doesn't get around to making volume 3, which seems likely, he ended the story of the Bride on a perfect note. After everything that happened throughout the two movies, it had to an end with the Bride and her daughter riding away into the sunset.
Split into two because the story got too long for one movie, the experience of watching Kill Bill does still feel like watching two different films.
It's always a tricky proposition to introduce the titular character in the sequel. More so after teasing his presence throughout the first. But by the time Carradine straightens his hair and jacket and takes the five deadly steps at the climax of volume two, you can't imagine anyone except him as Bill.
The success of a good revenge movie is how much you feel for what happened to the protagonist. Also, the level of satisfaction you get when he/ she finally gets revenge. On both counts, Kill Bill has to be one of the most satisfying tales of revenge put on celluloid.
