Directed by action master Sammo Hung, Moon Warriors is an underrated entry in the lists of 90s martial arts cinema. Fei, played by singing/acting heartthrob Andy Lau, is fisherman Fei, an ex-sword fighter who inadvertently foils an assassination attempt on a noble Prince and gets dragged into a conflict with the monarchs treacherous brother. With romance blossoming between Fei and the Princes bride-to-be, loyalties will be tested and plenty of fight scenes follow. Highly praised for balletic action choreographed by Ching Siu-tung who would later work on Hero, Moon Warriors offers an unusually strong blend of action, drama, romance and fantasy.
