5. Anastasia: The Breaking Bad Sequel Nobody Wanted

This one's technically an unofficial sequel to a TV show rather than a film, but it's so insane it's impossible not to share. When Breaking Bad finally reached the end of its tumultuous five season run, fans and network alike were bereft. What were they to do without another dose of suburban meth-dealing drama? AMC quickly put together prequel show Better Call Saul, which just finished its (brilliant) first season. For some, that wasn't enough. They didn't want a prequel €“ they wanted a direct follow up. And by €œsome€, sub in €œone crackpot who lives in Los Angeles and has dozens of unfilmed screenplays under his dubious belt€, and replace €œwanted€ with €œoffered to make€. Somehow Lawrence Shepherd planned to make this show, following a successful Kickstarter campaign, despite no involvement by anyone at AMC. All he wanted was a cool $500,000 to shoot a pilot for "Anastasia", which begins with the police detectives that find Walter White's dead body from the final shot of Breaking Bad. And - surprise - those detectives are played by Val Kilmer and Slash from Guns 'N' Roses for some reason! Like the rights to Breaking Bad, Shephered hadn't actually secured Kilmer or Slash for their starring roles. Not that it mattered, since the whole thing was cancelled before it was funded. But a man can dream...
