Whereas a good number of the characters on this list are minor characters or part of a bigger ensemble, Chunk is truly a key player in the storyline of The Goonies. Jeff Cohen (the actor who played him) might not have had the remarkable post-Goonies careers that fellow cast mates Sean Astin, Josh Brolin, or even maybe Corey Feldman (?) had, but without him (and Sloth) the group would have been doomed! Above all else, Chunk has character. Hes clumsy, hes a dreamer, hes a spinner of webs and a bit of a foul-mouthed prankster. Heavyset kids are often divided into two categories: mean-spirited bullies or pathetic dweebs. Chunk is neither. He will, at times, cheat on an exam or fake vomit in a movie theater, but hell also manage to save his friends lives and invite a deformed Fratelli brother to live with his family. Theres nothing one-dimensional about him, which is a testament to Steven Spielberg and Chris Columbus now-classic story and script. Also, the Truffle Shuffle equals cinematic perfection.
