Sif is an Asgardian warrior - one of the most powerful in fact - and important ally of Thor and is that rare example of an incredible female character not being derailed by their love story. During the Thor films, she is pivotal in defeating Loki and saving Asgard. Unfortunately, we see that her feelings for Thor weren't reciprocated due to his mooning over Jane Foster (poor choice there, Thor) and her lover Haldor was destroyed by Lorelai. Yet rather than becoming a simpering damsel in distress, Sif turns her misfortunes into opportunities to be dangerous and amazing. In her first Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D crossover appearance, she pursues Lorelai across whole universes in order to capture and neutralise her. And Jaimie Alexander, who portrays her, does it all while maintaining an enviable cool and superiority over the human characters.
