10 Best Female Vampires In Horror Movies
4. Eve - Only Lovers Left Alive
Only Lovers Left Alive is a compelling story that explores vampirism in a fresh and unique light (not sunlight, though, obviously). It's sentimental, gentle and overwhelmingly thoughtful, which is why it's no surprise the leading vampiric lady follows suit.
Tilda Swinton takes on the role of Eve in this movie about a pair of vampire lovers surviving the decadence and disconnection of the modern world. Adam (Tom Hiddleston) searches for a way out via suicide, but Eve acts as his anchor in an attempt to keep him living - or unliving, whatever vampires are.
Eve is a surprisingly upbeat and optimistic vampire who appreciates the finer things in life, such as art, performance and music. While she can be appropriately melancholic alongside her lover, she appreciates what the world can offer and even scolds him at one point for missing these opportunities to enjoy all the good things he has at his fingertips.
The movie doesn't entirely rob you of a wild and terrifying vampire, as her sister (Ava) brings a tonne of bloodthirsty energy to the plate. But, Eve gives you a blood-sucker with a unique presence and outlook on existence.
