10 Best Filmmaking Siblings
Soskas, Coens and Russos... Keep it in the family.
There are those people who can't get along with their siblings long enough to get through an entire dinner conversation without shouting at each other and throwing punches. There are others, however, who somehow find a way to bridge the gap of differences and lean on each other's strengths to work together.
There are many directing teams in the world, but there's just something about siblings working together, of like mind and style, to bring a specially curated vision to the screen.
10. The Chiodo Brothers
Directed by Stephen Chiodo, co-written by his brother Charles, and produced by other brother Edward, the seminal 1980s cult film Killer Klowns from Outer Space is a one-of-a-kind oddity that birthed the creepy clown movement and inspired the Insane Clown Posse (though they would never admit it).
The movie has the distinctive Chiodo style, a combination of cartoonish exaggeration and comical darkness. They worked on many other films as special effects designers (including Critters and Team America: World Police), but this was the only film in which the Chiodo Brothers distinctive production and directing style reached the screen.
There is only one Chiodo Brothers movie, but that fantastically weird film is more than worthy of landing them a place on this list.
