7. The Farrelly Brothers

Soska Sisters
New Line Cinema

For the 1990s and the early 2000s, raunchy The Farrelly Brothers were synonymous with a very specific kind of raunchy road comedy. Starting with 1994's Dumb and Dumber, their star continued to rise through the 1990s with films like Kingpin and There's Something About Mary.

The new millennium brought mixed reception for their works, from Say It Isn't So and Shallow Hal to their attempts at animation (Osmosis Jones) and mainstream romantic comedy (Fever Pitch).

After an underwhelming sequel, Dumb and Dumber To, brother Peter Farrelly made the leap to dramatic film with the Oscar-winning Green Book. However, die-hard fans of their classic 1990s output still wait for the unpretentious comedy that will bring them back to the work of their raunchy heyday.
